How to print A4 sheets on A3 sheets. Two simple options for printing a picture on several A4 sheets

Greetings, readers of my blog. I’m in touch with you, Timur Mustaev. I decided to print a picture consisting of several A4 sheets. And of course, I used the Corel DRAW program in my arsenal to cut into several parts; of course, I could also use Photoshop, and then print on a printer. But then I became interested in what other methods could be used to do this.

I started to turn the entire Internet upside down, and it turns out that everything is so simple that everyone can do it without having powerful graphics programs. Today I will share with you how to print a picture on several A4 sheets, and believe me, you can easily do it yourself.

The first thing that is recommended everywhere is to split the image using the printer property. Yes, the option is good and quite understandable. Yes, the only thing is that it’s not available everywhere this function in the printer properties. That's why this method we will not consider.

For all methods, I will use the same photo.

Paint

And so, the first method in my arsenal is to use Paint programs. Yes, this is a program that is included by default in Windows OS. So where to start.
Open Paint. FileOpen

In the menu that opens, select where your photo is located. Let's open it. If the photo is of high resolution, then it will open in the editor at 100%. In order to reduce the size, move the slider to the left to obtain a normal visual size.

Then we open FileSealPage settings

In the menu that appears, set the settings:

  1. Paper. Size – A4, Feed – Automatic selection.
  2. Orientation. It's better to put it here Landscape. If you want to Book, then please, the picture will not deteriorate from this.
  3. Margin (mm). Everything can be left unchanged.
  4. Centering. Check both boxes Horizontally And Vertically.
  5. Scale. Let's take a closer look here. If you want to print the picture in the original size that it is, then put 100% in the field Install. If you decide that 100% is not enough for you, feel free to put 200% or more. But remember the main thing, the more you zoom in, the worse the quality of the photo will be, as it is stretched.

In my case, the original photo was divided into only 4 parts of A4 format, at 100%, it seemed to me that this was not enough, so I set it to 200%, let's see what happened.

Online service Rasterbator.net

Everything is simple here. This online service for splitting and preparing files for printing. At the end you get it ready PDF file from broken photographs into A4 sizes. The service is free. There is one “BUT”, the service is not English language. I think this will not be difficult for you, especially since I will try to describe all the steps in more detail.

What should we do first? We open the service. In the window that appears, left-click on Create your poster.

The next step is to choose a photo that we will divide into parts. In my case, I will use the same photo as in the previous example. And so, I press the button Review and indicate the photo. Then click on Upload and wait for the photo to load.

  1. Paper stings(Paper Settings). Here we are interested in the A4 paper size. And album ( Landscape) location. You can choose book ( Portrait) option by clicking on the arrows.
  2. Put a tick Add margin of 10 mm each side. What does this tell us? It's simple, these are printing indents of 10 mm on each side.
  3. Check mark Overlap page by 5 mm we don't put it.
  4. Output size. This refers to how many parts the photo will be divided into. In this case, I put 3, this means the breakdown will be 3x3, that is, it will consist of 9 parts.

There is also Additional Information, in the lower right corner. Where indicated, Paper size, Size of the finished painting (Poster size), how many sheets the painting will consist of (Paper consumption) and a human figure 180 cm tall in the viewer (Human figure in preview is 180 cm tall). What does it mean? See the silhouette of a man in the middle. This silhouette is 180 cm high.

Next step, color ( Color). We set the following settings:

  • Raster color put Multicolor
  • Background color set White

To see what the poster will look like framed in the 10mm white border we installed at the beginning, check the box Show margin.

Click Continue.

In the final step, Options, several settings await us. So:

  • Output choose Enlarge.
  • Other, put a tick Crop marks, these are additional marks on the photograph, convenient for cropping after printing. If you do not want to trim the white border, then do not check the box. Page position, page printing order. It doesn’t matter here, I don’t check the box.

Click Rasterbate 9 pages!

After which the separation process will begin and will give you a ready PDF file for saving. If automatic saving does not appear, click on click here.

As a result, we received a finished poster, in PDF format for printing, with the title Rasterbation.

On this note, I will say goodbye to you. I hope you found the article useful. Subscribe to my blog, comment, share with friends.

All the best to you, Timur Mustaev.

By default, the MS Word document is set to A4 page format, which is quite logical. It is this format that is most often used in office work; it is in it that most documents, abstracts, scientific and other works are created and printed. However, sometimes it becomes necessary to change the generally accepted standard up or down.

MS Word has the ability to change the page format, and this can be done either manually or using a ready-made template, selecting it from a set. The problem is that finding the section where these settings can be changed is not so easy. To clarify everything, below we will tell you how to make A3 format instead of A4 in Word. Actually, in exactly the same way it will be possible to set any other format (size) for the page.

1. Open Text Document, the page format in which you want to change.

2. Go to the tab "Layout" and open the group dialog "Page settings". To do this, click on the small arrow that is located in the lower right corner of the group.

Note: In Word 2007-2010, the tools needed to change the page format are located in the "Page layout" In chapter " Extra options.

3. In the window that opens, go to the tab “Paper Size”, where in the section “Paper Size” Select the required format from the drop-down menu.

4. Click "OK" to close the window "Page settings".

5. The page format will change to the one you selected. In our case, this is A3, and the page in the screenshot is shown at a scale of 50% relative to the size of the program window itself, since otherwise it simply does not fit.

Manually changing page format

In some versions, page sizes other than A4 are not available by default, at least until the system has a compatible printer. However, the page size corresponding to a particular format can always be set manually. All that is required of you for this is knowledge of the exact value according to GOST. The latter can be easily learned thanks to search engines, but we decided to make things easier for you.

So, the page formats and their exact dimensions in centimeters (width x height):

A0- 84.1x118.9
A1— 59.4x84.1
A2— 42x59.4
A3— 29.7x42
A4— 21x29.7
A5— 14.8x21

And now about how and where to indicate them in Word:

1. Open the dialog box "Page settings" in the tab "Layout"(or section "Extra options" in the tab "Page layout" if you are using old version programs).

2. Go to the tab “Paper Size”.

3. Enter the required page width and height values in the appropriate fields and then click the button "OK".

Printing options are displayed at the top of the page. Below you can find out more about each of them. Digital printing of standard formats A4 and A3 has 5 parameters: sheet format (A4 or A3), print color (black and white or color), print type (single-sided or double-sided), print material - paper of various densities and textures, as well as circulation - number of sheets in one order.

A3 - printing format

The A3 printing format is usually used for printing presentation materials, small posters and posters, and advertisements. In addition, this format is used to create covers for brochures, notebooks and, for example, annual reports in A4 format: such a cover is folded in half and bound together with the document.

According to the international standard ISO 216 (this standard determines the dimensions of printed sheets of the most common and familiar to us system A), a printed sheet of format A3 has a length of 420 mm and a width of 297 mm. The sheet area is 0.125 m2; the sheet area is useful if the printing industry indicates the price per square meter in the price list.

Price digital printing A3 sheets are usually 1.5 - 2 times the cost of an A4 print. To calculate prices for A4 printing, change the search parameter or open the page Prices for printing format A4.

Color print

Color printing of leaflets, documents, banners or posters, as well as announcements and other materials is usually carried out on digital printing equipment - laser printers high performance. If the source document does not change from page to page (copying) and the circulation exceeds 500 - 800 pages, then a high-performance duplicating machine can be used for production.

To indicate color printing, a special designation is often used: 4+4 or 4+0. Marking 4+0 means that printing is done with four colors (that is, full-color printing) on one side of the sheet, and the designation 4+4 means double-sided color printing (4 colors on each side of the sheet).

Color printing A4 and A3 usually costs 2-3 times more than black-and-white printing, depending on the printing company and the circulation; this is associated with high costs for ink and printing equipment components: with monochrome printing, only one ink module is used, and with full-color printing - four. The cost of black and white printing of documents, advertisements, abstracts and leaflets can be compared in the section Prices black and white A4 and A3 printing.

Single-sided printing A4/A3

Single-sided printing (on one side of the sheet) is most often used for printing documents, abstracts, announcements, posters and posters. Typographic designation for single-sided printing: 1+0 for black and white single-sided printing and 4+0 for color printing on one side.

Currently, thrifty approach to production resources (lean manufacturing), protection of natural resources and simple savings are becoming increasingly popular, so more and more people are trying to adhere to the recommendations of international environmental protection companies such as GreenPeace and WWF, and print documents and abstracts from two sides of the sheet (using double-sided printing). PrintScanner also strongly recommends using double-sided printing of documents and abstracts.

The cost of single-sided printing is always lower than double-sided printing, but printing one sheet on both sides is usually cheaper than printing two sheets on one side.

Prices for A4/A3 printing in other cities of Russia

More than 1.5 thousand printing companies, printing houses and copy centers are registered and operating in different cities of Russia, providing digital sheet-fed printing services in standard A4 and A3 formats. PrintScanner collects the most profitable offer of such companies and distributes them to the appropriate cities, but if a small number of printing houses are registered in a certain city, then all offers for that city appear on this page.

As soon as in a certain city there are more than 5 - 10 active printing companies for most services, a separate section is created for this city, where price lists for printing are collected only for this city. Eg, printing prices In Ekaterinburg are collected in a single section, and the St. Petersburg section is represented by a large number of offers from various printing houses: A4 and A3 printing St. Petersburg: prices.

In category Other cities offers from printing houses in Rostov-on-Don, Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod and other cities are presented. Each offer is kept up to date, so the list changes over time.
