How to open the cover of a bq strike power phone. How to open the phone and remove the back cover from Xiaomi

In March, BQ released three new smartphones in the Strike series, all of which received increased battery capacity, providing an advantage in the form of battery life. Let's start getting acquainted with the older model BQ BQ-5059 Strike Power with a 5000 mAh battery. The remaining characteristics are also well balanced considering its price. We will also review the other two, BQ-5057 and BQ-5058, in the coming days. Since this series, last summer we already studied the BQ BQS-5020 Strike in detail.

In the near future it will appear in Russian stores with a recommended price of 6,500 rubles.

BQ BQ-5059 Strike Power review

Equipment

BQ BQ-5059 is supplied in a compact box made of thick cardboard with a bright red design. On the back of the box you can find detailed specifications in Russian and the main advantages of this model.

The package includes a charger, microUSB cable, headphones, instructions and a warranty card.

Appearance

BQ BQ-5059 came in three colors: black, silver and gold. Taking into account the texture of the back cover, gold and silver will look most advantageous.

Neat design, rounded corners and relatively thin body. It fits well in the hand, does not cut your hand, all elements are within reach.

Appearance of BQ BQ-5059 Strike Power

The lid fits tightly to the body; force is required to remove it. Under it there is a non-removable battery, two separate trays for SIM and a slot for a memory card. You can use all connectors at the same time, and hot swapping is also supported.

The central part of the lid is made of metal with a polished outer coating. The upper and lower parts are made of plastic to protect against problems with signal reception from cellular operators and wireless modules.

The side end represents a common whole with these inserts. On the right side is the power button and volume rocker.

Both connectors are on the top edge, microUSB with OTG support and an audio jack for headphones. There is a microphone hole at the bottom.

The camera lens of the BQ BQ-5059 is shifted to the right. Next to it is an LED flash.

The main speaker is shifted to the bottom of the cover. The volume is sufficient to watch movies and hear a call from the next room, but in a noisy room it can be missed.

An additional protective film is applied to the screen from the factory. The frames are of standard thickness for this price segment. There are three non-backlit touch buttons on the bottom frame. On top is the front camera lens and speaker grille.

The assembly of the phone is good, the cover does not press under the pressure of your fingers. No creaking or play of individual elements was noticed.

Screen

BQ BQ-5059 received a 5-inch IPS display with OGS technology. HD resolution. The image looks good. The viewing angles are wide. You can find fault with the level of maximum brightness; on a sunny day the screen goes blind. In general, it allows you to read texts, watch photos and video files, and work with social networks. Only two simultaneous touches are supported.

Filling

The smartphone is built on the quad-core MediaTek MT6580 platform with Mali-400MP2 graphics. Cortex A7 cores operate at 1.3 GHz. On board there is 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. Space for photos and files can be expanded using a memory card.

Connection

BQ BQ-5059 works in 3G networks. The connection is stable, no breaks were noticed. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth modules. The cold start of the navigation module takes about 30-40 seconds, the positioning accuracy is sufficient for use as a navigator.

Battery

Now to the best part, this smartphone has received a battery capacity increased to 5000 mAh. Taking into account the installation of an energy-efficient platform and a low display resolution, it is enough for two days of everyday work with applications, the network, movies and games. The discharge schedule is uniform. No heating was noticed during charging or during prolonged use. Charging with the included power adapter takes approximately 5-5.5 hours.

Cameras

The main camera is 13MP, the front camera is 8MP. Main module with autofocus and flash. A standard application from the Google package is used. The quality of work is noticeably better compared to smartphones in this price segment released last year. Blur and focusing problems noticed in low light.

Software

BQ BQ-5059 received the latest Android 7.0 operating system without add-ons in the form of shells. Google Play is available without authorization problems at the time of publication. The software set is supplemented by several partner applications, including games, Yandex software and online store clients. Anything unnecessary can be removed without any problems.

Xiaomi phones deservedly receive good reviews. In the production of any original Xiaomi phone, reliable components are used, which guarantees high quality products. But any equipment breaks down over time and requires repair. Therefore, there may be a need to disassemble telephone sets. Of course, it is ideal that disassembly and subsequent repairs be carried out by specialists. This guarantees the quality of work and will allow you to have no doubt about the final result. But if you want to save on paying for their services, then you can learn how to remove the back cover on a Xiaomi Redmi phone or another model yourself.

We offer you a short instruction on how to open the back cover on a Xiaomi Redmi phone (including models 3 and 4), Mi Max, etc. Since almost all phones have the same design, this guide can be used for most mobile gadgets.

Sequencing

  1. First of all, we take out the SIM card tray. If you leave it in its original position inside the case, it will interfere when removing the cover.
  2. Direct disassembly starts with the procedure of opening the latches around the perimeter of the gadget. Opening the back cover is not so easy - you need to put in a lot of effort to cope with the task. But this must be done extremely carefully. The best and safest way to open the device is with a special spatula for working with phones. And certainly, in no case should you use sharp objects that can cause scratches when working with the back cover. You need to start opening the latches from one corner of the phone, gradually moving to the other.

  1. When the latches have yielded, slowly and carefully remove the back cover of the Xiaomi Redmi or Mi Max. Smoothly open the case and see a cable connecting the back surface to the touchscreen. Carefully remove the cable to disconnect the front panel.
  2. Now we have before us the “filling” of the Mi smartphone. Here we see the top panel with the installed chip, and the cameras there. The battery is located underneath them. Most often, the question of how to remove the back cover of Xiaomi Redmi or Mi Max appears when it is necessary to replace the cameras or battery. This is also relevant if the touchscreen is damaged, but without additional complex equipment you will definitely not be able to solve this problem at home.
  3. Although the insides of the smartphone are open to us, we cannot yet remove them. In addition to the cameras, we can get them if we open the seal, which can be easily pryed off with any flat object at hand.

  1. If you disassemble the phone to replace the battery or dig into the chip, you will have to work with a screwdriver. The internal elements are screwed to the lid with bolts. We unscrew them with a screwdriver, be sure to put them in a visible place so as not to lose them, and only after that we can continue disassembling them. Unscrewed bolts need to be given special attention - those that are attached from above are longer than those that are screwed from below. Therefore, put them in different places so as not to get confused.
  2. After unscrewing the bolts, open the protective panel on top, and a chip will appear in front of you. It is not recommended to make any changes to its configuration yourself.
  3. I close the back cover in the same way as I open it, but, of course, the steps are performed in reverse order. The main thing is to be careful and act carefully, and then everything will work out.

To get a more accurate idea of how to properly open a Mi Max phone and other Xiaomi models, we suggest you watch the training videos.

BQ 5020 Strike - a budget phone with good performance, IPS HD screen, 13MP and 5MP cameras for only 5,500 rubles

Today we decided to talk about a smartphone with a seemingly very budget price tag of 5,500 rubles, but at the same time having decent characteristics -. From the moment it entered the market, it immediately became a bestseller, because it has an IPS screen with HD resolution, 13 and 5 megapixel cameras, good hardware, average battery life - everything that the average user needs in everyday life.

The box looks very presentable, designed in the corporate color white and red style of the company . The cardboard is high-quality, the printing is good, the packaging feels like you’re holding not a budget phone, but at least an A-series smartphone. Inside are:

  • BQ Strike smartphone;
  • battery;
  • charger with micro USB data cable;
  • vacuum headphones with a button to answer the call;
  • user manual in Russian;
  • warranty card.

Everything is packaged in individual bags and looks solid. The manufacturer tried to please the user in the color palette. There is plenty to choose from - 5 primary colors: black, yellow, gold, gray, rose gold.

The model's body is metal with plastic corrugated elements at the top and bottom, the hole for the speaker on the back cover looks very interesting, there is no mesh or classic holes. There is a special slot for the speaker. The smartphone itself is assembled to a very high quality, there are no gaps or creaks, everything is assembled as for a more expensive segment. The back cover is removable, as is the battery, which is very good in an age when most smartphones are not collapsible.

The back cover of the BQS 5020 is not so easy to remove the first time; under the slot of the multimedia speaker there is a pointer for pseudo-opening the back cover, as if the cover ends there. All that remains is to pry the slot and the lid will open, but no such luck. In fact, on the top edge of the phone, just behind the screen, there is a ledge for gripping and opening the back cover. In some ways, the back cover opening system reminds everyone of the familiar Lumia, but this is a more advanced option.

The battery is not super-capacious, but rather average - 2000 mAh. After several days of use, we can say with confidence that it will be enough for a full day of light. This is approximately 9-13 hours of active use.

The phone supports two SIM cards (micro + regular SIM cards); it is possible to expand the internal memory using an external microSD memory card up to 64 GB. Initially, the phone has 8GB of its own built-in memory, of which 3.7 GB is available.

The screen is made using IPS technology with an HD resolution of 1280x720 pixels, it is bright, rich, with excellent viewing angles, everything is visible on the street, there is no glare in the sun. From the factory, the model is immediately equipped with a pre-installed protective film for the screen. The only note about the screen is that it supports only 2 touches, but for normal work this will be enough.

The hardware in the smartphone is not top-end, but for the money it’s quite decent. Processor 4-core MediaTek (MTK 6580) with a clock frequency of 1300 MHz. In the AnTuTu test, the smartphone scores 24,332 points, which is not bad and is comparable in terms of performance to such a well-known model as the Samsung J3. At the same time, the price tag for J3 is an order of magnitude higher. Mali-400 MP is responsible for graphics.

The strength of this model can be considered the cameras. The main 13MP camera allows you to take high-quality pictures in daylight, but noise appears in the evening. However, it is rare that any camera, even from the premium segment, can boast of good pictures in low light. The 5MP front camera copes well with its functions for such a price tag; you are guaranteed high-quality selfies.

The smartphone, unfortunately, does not support 4G technology, but 3G works great, there’s nothing to complain about. Although this drawback is not so significant nowadays, because most surfers on the Internet use the Internet via Wi-Fi.

If we talk about the operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is pre-installed out of the box. Everyone will like this version of the operating system; you can completely customize it to suit yourself, taking into account almost all your wishes: interface, controls and much more. Judging by the large number of pre-installed games and children's applications, the smartphone itself is positioned as an excellent gift for a child.

Results for BQ 5020 Strike.

General: It’s definitely worth buying BQ Strike, the smartphone has clear advantages over competitors in this price group up to 6,000 rubles: performance, quality, price. The only thing it can’t do is work in 4G.

Cons of BQ Strike, there are not many of them for such a price:

  • does not support 4G network;
  • Supports only 2 touches.

Pros of 5020 Strike:

  • bright high-quality IPS screen with HD resolution, like more expensive models;
  • cameras;
  • successful firmware version;
  • not bad battery life for 2000 mAh.

Affordable price and Android 6.0 are the main reasons I chose this smartphone. The remaining characteristics met my basic requirements: a 5-inch screen with HD resolution, 1 gigabyte of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera.

Let me start with the fact that there are BQ phones from the Spanish company BQ and the Russian company BQ Mobile. As a result, confusion arises. Even in many large catalogs these phones are not separated, falling into one category as one brand.

BQ Strike (BQS-5020) is a smartphone from a Russian company. In Minsk it cost me 204 rubles ($102), while in Russia it costs only 5,490 rubles ($86). For this money the offer is very interesting.

Country of origin: China.

The kit includes: charging block, USB cable, vacuum headphones, protective film (already pasted on the screen), Russian user manual and original warranty card. The charging block indicates a charging current of 0.15 amperes, which is surprisingly low. In fact, the tester shows 0.77 amperes. It was unexpected to see nice-looking vacuum headphones included with a budget phone. Even the sound quality was at a good level. They look decent, there is no shame in leaving the house with them.

The protective film already on the screen is also good. After all, you can successfully stick it on yourself forever.

Appearance

The first thing I noticed when I took the phone out of the box was how bulky it was. After my compact Phicomm Passion P660 this is very noticeable. In fact, this is true: the phone weighs 174 grams and its thickness is 1 cm. The length and width of the campus: 145 and 73 mm (calipers confirmed these dimensions). All this is quite normal for a budget device. Once you get used to it, it is quite convenient to use.

Many people note, like me, that it looks great. In this regard, it “does” many budget smartphones.

The official website lists metal as the material. In fact, they are lying. More precisely, they don’t say much. The back of the removable panel is indeed completely metal, except for two small plastic inserts at the top and bottom. The sides, top and bottom ends of this panel are also plastic painted to look like metal. That is, a metal fox is glued to the removable plastic panel, as can be seen in the photo.

The assembly is good. But there are some unpleasant little things. The lid, when pressed firmly in the middle, is pressed through and a quiet creak is heard. There is a gap between the protective glass and the body where grains of sand and other dirt get in, and cleaning them out is problematic. I don’t know how necessary such an engineering solution was in the design of the phone, but it will ruin the aesthetic appearance over long-term use. For clarity, I inserted paper into this gap.

Below the screen are three silver touch buttons. They are not illuminated. The user manual states that there is a "Menu" key on the right. However, on the desktop or in any application, it does not bring up a menu, but always opens a list of recent applications (whether you hold it down or simply press it). Central key: “Home”. Left: "Return".

When a message or call is missed, the green indicator flashes to the right of the speaker. When the charger is connected, the red indicator lights up, changing to green when fully charged.

The event indicator can be configured: Settings - Screen - Notifications. You can enable or disable notifications for:

1. Missed calls and messages (green indicator);
2. Application notifications (green indicator);
3. Low battery (red indicator);
4. Phone charging (red indicator);
5. Charging is complete (red indicator).

Screen

It is indicated that this is an IPS matrix, which is better than regular TFT. Although, I didn't notice the difference. I can't tell if it's glass or plastic. There is no information on this matter. There is an air gap - this causes loss of color when viewed at angles and glare in the sun.

The screen is bright and the colors are rich. But the black color is a little overexposed (not quite black). If you look at sharp angles, there is a slight distortion of color, the brightness of the picture drops, but good visibility of what is on the screen is maintained. Yes, no one looks at the screen at an acute angle when using a smartphone.

If you go outside on a sunny day, it is difficult to use it in direct sunlight - it is difficult to see anything on the screen. You will have to block the screen from the sun's rays with your hand.

The sensor recognizes two simultaneous touches - more is needed. I never noticed that a third touch was needed. But his sensitivity is not high. The sensor will not work on a very light touch. In dynamic games, such sensitivity interferes with control, but in normal use of the phone it does not matter.

As I already wrote, a protective film is pasted. It is easily soiled and easily collects fingerprints that are not erased with one movement, as with an oleophobic coating. I can assume that without it, the screen will have less glare in the sun, and the sensor may be more responsive, but I didn’t remove it, at least at first.

Despite the above shortcomings, the screen is good for this price category.

There is MiraVision technology from MediaTek, which allows you to fine-tune the colors of the screen. Settings - Screen - MiraVision. The default mode is Standard, but you can choose Vivid mode (colors will become brighter) or Custom mode. In Custom mode, you can manually adjust many parameters: contrast, saturation, brightness, sharpness and color temperature.

Android 6.0 and applications

There are many advertising apps and games. Precisely, they are not on the phone, but only shortcuts (icons) on the desktop, when clicked on, a link to download from the Play Store opens. Among them are links to applications: ICQ, Lamoda, Forex Club, Air tickets Svyaznoy Travel, Search for tours, News for you, Yula - advertisements nearby, Abstracts, Yandex Market. Links to games: Mobile Strike, Ocean Blitz, Dragon Soul, Vikings War of Clans, Juggernaut Wars, Heroes of Might and Magic. They are easily removed, which is what I did right away.

There are two browsers: Yandex Browser and Chrome. Yandex Browser can be removed, but Chrome is the default browser and cannot be removed.

Performance

Performance tests have never mattered to me, but I’ll still share the result. In AnTuTu Benchmark, the BQ Strike smartphone scored 18,919 points. The touch screen recognizes 2 simultaneous touches.

There are no problems with performance in BQ Strike. 1 gigabyte of RAM and a MediaTek MT6580 processor run Android 6.0 as needed. The graphical interface does not slow down; launching simple applications (calendar, contacts, gallery) takes no more than a second, like most smartphones with similar hardware. The demanding game N.O.V.A 3 runs without lag. But as noted above, the sensor is not very responsive, which spoils the clarity of control and is not convenient to play.

Connection

There are two separate slots for SIM cards: micro-SIM and a full-size slot (for a large card). There is a separate slot for a memory card. Considering that many people are now making a combined slot, three separate slots can be considered one of the advantages of this phone. They are located under the lid. In order to install SIM cards, you need to remove the battery.

Both SIM cards work on 3G networks.

The audibility of the interlocutor is good, the sound in the speakers is clear. There were no problems with the network.

I liked that if a second SIM card is not inserted, then only one SIM card icon is shown at the top. Typically, phones show a second crossed out SIM card icon that cannot be removed. There is no such thing here.

In the settings you can change the name of the SIM card and the color of the icon displayed in contacts. You can choose which one to use for the Internet, which one to choose for a call (or always ask which of the two to make a call with).

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi work correctly.

Satellite navigation

The MAPS.ME navigation application, with location detection via the Internet and mobile network towers disabled, could not determine the position for several minutes. But the GPS Test application found a sufficient number of satellites to determine the coordinates in one and a half minutes. After that, the location was determined in MAPS.ME in a matter of seconds.

The AndroiTS GPS Test application did not find any Russian satellites (checked twice on different days). Accordingly, either BQ Strike does not support GLONASS, or there are glitches in the GLONASS navigation system.

Camera

As you know, the number of megapixels for a camera is not an indicator, but the 13-megapixel camera in BQ Strike unexpectedly pleased. Not many hundred dollar smartphones photograph so well. On a sunny day, the photos turn out excellent; on a cloudy day, the quality is also quite good. You can evaluate the camera in the pictures. All of them were taken in normal shooting mode, without any settings.

Knowing how to remove the cover from a phone can be useful especially when you need to change a SIM card, insert a memory card, change the battery if it is damaged or purchase a new one, etc.

The principle of removing the cover on mobile devices is approximately the same.

Remove the cover

Whatever the reason, removing the back cover is a process that every mobile device user needs to be able to perform:

  1. To get started, pick up your phone. Now you need to turn it face down to see the back panel of the device. The whole process will take very little time, but you need to remove the cover with both hands.
  2. Turn the phone upside down so that the bottom of the mobile phone (where the microphone is located) is at the top, and the top (where the speaker is placed to the ear) is at the bottom.
  3. Now use both thumbs of your left and right hands to press down on the latch on the lid. Usually it is located under the camera, but if there is no camera, then at the top of the cover, or it will be indicated by relief elements. Next, apply pressure and move the lid away from you.

If the phone is new, then the lid will require more effort to open, but over time this process will become easier and easier.

Additionally, some mobile device covers are secured with screws, so all screws must be removed to remove the cover.
