Today it is not difficult to arrange a measured and relaxing holiday in Crimea. Foros is one of the best villages on the vastness of the peninsula for such a pastime. Here you can have a wonderful rest with health benefits, receiving a lot of positive emotions. In conclusion, we offer a short video review of the resort town. Enjoy watching!

Foros is a small urban-type village, which is located only 40 km from Yalta. Despite the centuries-old history, these places were inhabited back in the 5th century BC. e., now it looks modern and cannot boast of very ancient monuments. But its geographical location is of great interest - it is the southernmost resort of Crimea. It is quiet and not too crowded, so even in high season you can relax in relative privacy. And if you want a rich cultural program, then you should go around the surrounding area and to neighboring cities.

The history of the resort is connected with the name of the late 19th century tea magnate A.G. Kuznetsov, it was he who built a mansion here and laid out a park, which still attract tourists.

How to get to Foros

The most convenient way to get to Forosa is from Simferopol, because almost all travelers fly there.

There are no direct routes from the airport to the village; first you need to be at Kurortnaya station. It is reached by minibus No. 115 and bus No. 98, the travel time is just over half an hour, the ticket price is 9-14 RUB. In addition, Transexpress buses and trolleybuses (like the familiar Aeroexpress) leave from the airport; they move non-stop and run around the clock. Travel on a trolleybus costs 27 RUB, on a bus 50 RUB.

Then from the Kurortnaya station you can either go directly to Foros, or get there with a transfer in Yalta. Direct flights are more convenient, but they depart only a couple of times a day. The bus takes about 3 hours, the trip will cost 207 RUB. Those traveling without luggage can board passing flights and get off at the Foros turnoff, but from there it is about 2 km to the city. If there are no direct buses in the next few hours, you should go to Yalta, where transport runs every half hour. Ticket price is 150 RUB, the journey takes about 2 hours. From Yalta, minibuses to the resort also run frequently, the ride takes about 50 minutes and costs only 20 RUB. Since the railway station is located 200 m from the Kurortnaya bus station, the route for those arriving by train is similar.

For those who want to get to the resort comfortably and without transfers, a taxi is suitable. A two-hour trip will cost about 2050-2150 RUB, but it is better to book a car in advance, because prices at the airport are much higher. Prices on the page are for October 2018.

Transport

Foros is a small village, so most travelers and locals get around on foot. There is no internal public transport network, but some passing minibuses can take you from one end of the resort to the other. Most often, tourists want to go to the Foros Church (it’s not far, but uphill), in this case you can take any minibus to Yalta and get off at the Foros-Baydar Gate intersection.

There is a taxi service in Foros. It is better to agree on the price of the trip in advance, but it almost always fits into 150 RUB. Cars drive without a meter; travel is usually paid in cash.

Maps of Foros

Car and bicycle rental

A convenient way of transportation is a bicycle. It can be rented at special rental offices or hotels. It is better to give preference to mountain models, since the village itself and the area around it are mountainous. A day's rental costs from 450 RUB; renting for a long period is usually more profitable.

Beaches of Foros

All resort beaches are rocky and covered with pebbles. You can go into the water barefoot, but those who are especially sensitive swim in special rubber slippers. The main pride of Foros is the cleanest water in all of Crimea. This is due to two strong currents passing here and constantly renewing the water. True, low sea temperatures are also associated with these same currents, which can also change in just a couple of days.

Despite compact dimensions village, there are several public beaches. The most popular is Green, it is located in the center and is considered the main one. The Pink Beach, which is located near the Foros sanatorium, is very good. A little to the east lies a small pebble section of the coast - Kholodny. And in Quiet Bay there is a picturesque, but quiet piece of coastline only in name. All beaches are developed by tourists, the necessary infrastructure is available: toilets and showers, cafes, changing cabins, paid sunbeds and umbrellas (from 150 RUB per day). Some private sanatorium beaches may require an entrance fee, while others do not allow outsiders at all.

The resort also has a wild coastline. For example, a small secluded area near Cape Chekhov or the famous “Derevyashka” among nudists. There is no infrastructure in these areas, but there are also few vacationers.

Foros Hotels

The most popular accommodation option in Foros is guest houses. A room for two will cost 2000 RUB per day, and you can actually find very decent housing. Apartments with sea views are more expensive: from 4,500 RUB, but even a small group or family can live in them.

There are few expensive hotels in the resort, the rooms in them are sold out quickly, the cost of living is 6000-10000 RUB per day for a double room. But there are no classic hostels in Foros at all. Many travelers prefer to stay not in the very center of the village, but in its surroundings - it’s cheaper, and often more secluded and comfortable.

What to bring

As already mentioned, the Russian tea magnate A.G. Kuznetsov made a very big contribution to the development of the resort in the 19th century, so the best souvenir from Foros will be Crimean tea “with history.” The rest of the products are traditionally Crimean: crafts made from shells and pebbles, essential oils, products made from juniper wood and onyx. Crimean wines and local specialties will be a good present: honey, sweets, dried fruits, etc.

It is worth remembering that juniper is under the protection of environmentalists, since the number of trees is rapidly declining precisely because of cutting down for souvenirs. Therefore, it is better to refrain from purchasing such products.

Another nice gift from the trip is herbal collections, some of which can be used for cooking, while others can be used to flavor the home.

Cuisine and restaurants of Foros

Travelers of any income will not have a question about where to eat in Foros - there are cafes and restaurants of a wide variety of price categories. However, most establishments are located either near the seashore or near the main attractions.

Those who want to relax economically will like budget canteens. Lunch there costs from 300-400 RUB per person. You can eat in a cafe by the sea for about 700-800 RUB per person, and dinner in expensive restaurants will cost 1000-1500 RUB per person. There is little fast food in the village, but people usually snack on the street with local pastries or dishes of Crimean Tatar cuisine (from chebureks, not much like those sold here, to a juicy pie with lamb “kubete” - within 100 RUB). The restaurants mainly serve European, Ukrainian and Russian cuisine, and the quality of the dishes will not disappoint tourists. Guests of the peninsula are happy to try Black Sea rapana, red mullet and other dishes prepared from the inhabitants of coastal waters.

Those who want to cook on their own will not have any problems either: fresh food can be bought in stores and at street markets.

Entertainment and attractions

One of the main attractions of the village is Foros Park. It was once a garden around the mansion of Alexander Kuznetsov, the house was built in the style of Russian classicism, and the green area appeared even before the arrival of the tea magnate, in 1834. Now more than half of the territory is a forested area, and about 30 hectares are occupied by well-groomed cultural plantings. Particularly beautiful is “Paradise” or “Paradise”, where in addition to an abundance of plants there are cascading fountains and access to the sea.

The Crimean village of Foros is not located in the most interesting area of the South Coast - exactly in the middle between Sevastopol and Yalta. And it’s a short drive from it to these iconic cities of Crimea more than an hour, and transport in it is not the most frequent pleasure. There is not much to do in the village itself and there are almost no bright tourist spots. In other words - the wilderness.

But the history of this wilderness is not the most boring! It was at the Frosskaya dacha that Brezhnev stayed during the August putsch, and the famous sanatorium for Soviet cosmonauts was also located there. And Yuri Gagarin himself rested at one of the dachas after his space flight. It's no joke!

But now Foros is a quiet, calm, somewhat provincial place, where the Soviet Union still breathes. There are no parties, noisy clubs, places of tourist pilgrimage or other social life to be found there. Even climbers do not settle in it, although the Forossky Kant rock massif, which is located much higher than the village, is for climbers.

In general, you should go there only if you want to take a break from crowds of people, noise and the frantic rhythm of the city. In those moments when you just need to go to the depths of the world and not see or hear anyone, and live a quiet, simple life with minimal signs of civilization.

When I arrived there, I was a little taken aback by the stagnation, emptiness, lack of signs of vigorous activity and silence. I was just in a non-Foros state at the time. But in moments when I wanted to be alone with myself and my thoughts, with full confidence that no one and nothing would distract me, I, dripping with saliva, remembered Foros and dreamed of being there. Away from the noisy tourist crowds and bustle. In general, this place is for a certain state of mind.

How to get there

Foros is located on the Crimean Peninsula, which can be reached by all means known to us: on foot, by bicycle, by boat and even on horseback. And of course, by car, bus, train and plane.

By plane

There is only one civil airport in Crimea, in Simferopol - SIMFEROPOL International Airport. There is a military airfield in Sevastopol, but planes full of tourists, unfortunately, do not fly there. But you can fly to almost all leading airlines. There are on average 5–7 flights a day from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other cities with a population of over a million, and if you take care of tickets in advance, they will be quite cheap: about 7,000 rubles. You can search for tickets for convenient dates on well-known search engine services, and it is convenient to compare prices from different sellers. The travel time will be about 3 hours, so this is the best option.

Path from the airport

Taxi

As at every airport, you will be greeted here by friendly but greedy taxi drivers. A trip from Simferopol to Foros, including luggage, will cost around 3,000 rubles. The journey will take about an hour.

Bus/trolleybus

For fans of public transport, there are several options for the development of events. In any case, you need to go with a transfer in Yalta.

If you want to take a leisurely ride along the South Coast Highway, stopping at every stop and enjoying the mountain and sea views, then you can use trolleybus No. 55, following the route: airport -. The cost of such a trip is 100 rubles, duration is about 2.5 hours. These trolleybuses run rarely, but on any other city trolley you can get from the airport to the railway station, and from where trolleybuses No. 52 and other buses go towards Yalta every 20 minutes. Also, Yalta can be reached by buses and minibuses that go to Yalta and depart from the airport every half hour. They do not have specific route numbers; they simply have a sign on the windshield indicating their destination. Travel time is about 2 hours, cost is 150 rubles.

The bus station, from where trolleybuses and minibuses depart, is located opposite the main entrance to the airport, across the parking lot, immediately behind the fences.

Minibus No. 128 runs from Yalta to Foros every 40 minutes. The last one seems to be around 8-9 o'clock. It departs from the upper platform of the bus station.

There is another option to take any Sevastopol bus from Yalta (they run every 20 minutes) and get off at the Foros stop on the highway. But then you will have to walk 3 kilometers down from the highway. With suitcases this is not the most pleasant experience.

By train

For lovers of the romance of trains, Russian Railways came up with a “Single Ticket” to Crimea. By train from all major cities of the country you can get either to Anapa or Krasnodar, from there by bus to the ferry crossing. Then you find yourself in Kerch and there you take other buses to travel to the villages and villages of the Crimean Peninsula.

This route can be found on the Russian Railways website.

But personally, I don’t see the point in such a ticket: making a bunch of transfers in the heat, and even the risk of being stuck at the crossing for several hours is very high. The tourists traveling on the “Single Ticket”, whom I met at the stations, had a very sad and “rumpled” look, they were no longer happy about coming to Crimea, fatigue from numerous road scrapes took over.

This option may be relevant for residents of remote regions, where flight fares are quite high, in order to save money. Getting to Crimea by plane from Central Russia is not at all expensive.

By bus

There are regular buses from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Kerch. The ticket price is about 3 thousand rubles. Having reached Kerch, you will need to get to the city you need on your own. Fortunately, the bus service between Kerch and the rest of Crimea is quite well developed.

There is another option: buy bus tours, where all connections and logistics are already thought out for you. Similar offers can be found from many travel agencies. It's a little more expensive, but you won't have to wait long for connections. The same tours are organized to cities such as and Bakhchisarai. Then no transfers at all. Travel time is a little more than a day.

The buses that carry long distances are quite comfortable - my friends who travel this way did not complain of discomfort.

By car

You can get from Moscow to Yalta by private car in 18 hours, excluding stops and food breaks. Gasoline costs will be about 10 thousand rubles. The road will run through Ukraine. From Moscow you need to take the E105 highway, which leads directly to Yalta, the length of the route is 1,481 km.

It is not difficult to get from Yalta to Foros - you need to move west towards Sevastopol for 40 kilometers, and turn towards the sea at the turn to Foros, indicated by a sign.

The journey from St. Petersburg will take about 30 hours. There are options: go either only through Ukraine, or through Belarus and Ukraine. The average is 2,200 km. If you drive only through Ukraine, then you should take the E95 highway, in Bryansk get onto the E101, follow it to Belgorod, and then change the road to E105. This is the most optimal, simple (less chance of getting lost at junctions and turns) and fastest option.

When is the season? When is the best time to go

The best time for a holiday in Crimea is mid-August - late September. Not so hot, not so stuffy, the sea is warm and rarely stormy. Local fruits, berries, nuts and vegetables have already ripened, young wines have been made from the new grape harvest and markets are starting to sell all these riches of Crimea. And the crowds of tourists are no longer so impressive. In general, absolutely all, without exception, the delights of southern resort life can be enjoyed during this period.

Foros in summer

Numerous Foros sanatoriums are all booked in the summer. But the streets are as deserted as always. Well, okay, maybe a little more crowded than in the off-season. Sedate elderly couples and mothers with small children relax there, for whom the quiet, desolate and non-criminal Foros is the real deal.

In general, in Crimea things are like this:

  • the sea warms up to a comfortable temperature(about +23°C) by mid-June and maintains this temperature until the end of September. Until this time, bathing has some hardening and invigorating effect: +18–20 °C. But on the small city beach (only three spaces between the breakwaters) all the free places are filled almost from 7 in the morning, and if you want to lie on the pebbles, and not on the hands and feet of your neighbors, then you need to go to the distant “Europe” beach.
  • Warm weather has been established in Crimea since May. But the hottest time is at the end of July - early August(usually it lasts 2-3 weeks). The heat is simply sweltering, and at night the earth does not have time to cool down, and it is terribly stuffy. And the sea is not at all refreshing; at this time it is disgustingly warm. Even the local southerners, fried by the sun to the very bones, are languishing in the heat and don’t know where to go. What can we say about us, cold northerners and other Vikings. At this time, I least recommend traveling with children: the poor fellows will only get tired of the heat and stuffiness and will not allow their parents to rest with their “climatic” whims.
  • Well, of course summer is the biggest influx of tourists. There are queues and crowds at all the attractions, and traffic jams on the narrow two-lane Crimean roads are only slightly worse than those in Moscow.

Foros in autumn

In autumn, Foros is beautiful - as it offers a view of the Foros edge, covered with golden and scarlet spots of autumn foliage. Very aesthetically pleasing and impressive.

Locals also bring a bunch of goodies from their gardens to self-proclaimed markets: fruits, vegetables, pickles, jams. Mushroom pickers sell freshly cut chanterelles and honey mushrooms, fishermen sell freshly caught bluefish and horse mackerel. Everything is environmentally friendly, without GMOs, take my word for it. Not frozen ice cream, not transported a million years far away, but grown in the fresh Crimean mountain-sea air and brought for sale with the freshest and most delicious :) In addition, they sell so much exotic stuff here that you won’t find for any price in any branded supermarket.

In general, I repeat once again: autumn is definitely best time for a holiday in Crimea, no matter in which village or city.

Foros in spring

In spring, Foros is a pleasant, quiet, sunny place. The sea is still cold (+15 °C), only walruses enjoy swimming. During the day it is quite warm - the temperature rises to +25 °C, and at night to +17 °C. But prices have not yet been set. And if you come at the end of May-April, you can find Crimea in bloom! The plateau is strewn with poppies, and the gardens are in clouds of the most fragrant flowering in the world. It's incredibly pleasing to the eye! The lavender fields alone are worth it.

And also, on the plateau, in the mountains right above Foros, a bunch of mountain flowers are blooming, and most importantly, snowdrops. At the end of April, thousands of delicate white bells bloom in mountain meadows. The spectacle is beautiful and unique! They shamelessly tear up the snowdrops and drag them home, where they wither every other day. And this, by the way, is a plant listed in the Red Book! So, let's just admire them and breathe in their sweet aroma in the forest, without leaving the cash register.

Foros in winter

In winter in Foros the melancholy is unreal. It, like all coastal villages, is dying out. So he's not the liveliest. Since the beginning of November, cafes, stalls and small seasonal hotels have been permanently closed, tourists are leaving, the streets are empty. It’s very rare if, while wandering somewhere around the village, you meet three people. To see one is good luck. After 6 the streets are quiet - it gets dark early in winter, and street lighting in Foros is limited to just a couple of lanterns. There is absolutely nowhere to go - no theaters, no cinema, no fitness centers, no courses, shows, screenings, parties, concerts... Public transport stops running at the same ill-fated 6 o'clock in the evening. After 6 - at least hang yourself. Even when the winter mountain winds are howling and the sea is stormy, and there is no trace of a cozy coffee shop nearby - it’s absolutely a nightmare - there is no other way to convey the full drama of winter in Crimea.

Temperatures in winter vary. It happens that it reaches -10 °C. This temperature is perceived as very disgusting due to the high humidity. Sometimes a piercing icy wind blows from the mountains or from the sea, when it simply blows you off your feet. Sometimes snow will fall, lie there for a day and then immediately melt. And most often, of course, sunny warm days from 0 to +5 ° C. Comfortable temperature for outdoor operation. Even in winter it is often stormy. And if you want to look at a truly raging element with two-meter waves and clouds of spray, then winter is ideal for this.

Districts. Where is the best place to live?

I don’t think that Foros is somehow divided into districts - it is quite small. Most likely, it contains the classic resort zoning based on distance from the sea. Those who want to be closer to the sea settle on the first or second coastal ones, but, of course, keep in mind that housing there is more expensive. Those who prefer to be away from spots with a high concentration of people rent a hut a little further (although in Foros there is generally a very low concentration of people) Easy, easy :)

An impressive part of Foros is occupied by closed sanatorium areas. Only vacationers on vouchers can live there.

What are the prices for holidays?

It is no secret that vacationing in Crimea is more expensive than in Turkey and Greece. And the South Coast in particular is generally the most expensive vacation spot in Crimea. Since most of the iconic tourist places are gathered here, Crimeans are not shy about exorbitant prices, which rise here every season. They can be understood - work is hard in Crimea, and the money the guys earn from tourists feeds them for the whole next year. But nevertheless, there are some who are completely insolent.

The main thing is not to fall for this - feel free to bargain with taxi drivers and shopkeepers, buy not the first souvenir you come across, but walk between the aisles. I bet someone will have the same product (and maybe even better) for 30% cheaper.

Accommodation

In high season it is difficult to find accommodation cheaper than 700 rubles per night. As a rule, such prices are offered by private owners. Hotels start from 1000 per night and go up to exorbitant prices. To avoid getting into trouble, it is better to compare the cost on the Internet in advance (for example,). You can also book a room on.

Nutrition

Lunch in a canteen or an average cafe will cost 200–300 rubles, and in restaurants and more decent cafes 500–700 rubles. The average price for visiting excursions and attractions is 300 rubles per piece.

Transport

A minibus to Yalta will cost about 50 rubles, in the village - 13, a bus to Simferopol 150 rubles, to Sevastopol - 100.

Main attractions. What to see

There are not many attractions in Foros itself and its surroundings, but there are still some quite interesting ones :)

Top 3

Beaches. Which ones are better

  • Central city beach. A classic of the genre of southern cities - noisy, crowded, a lot of cafes and stalls with food, beer and souvenirs, not enough space on the shore to lie down. Well, in Foros this is represented to a lesser extent, since it is not the most popular tourist spot.
  • Beaches of hotels and resorts. These beaches are always more civilized, cleaner, more well-groomed and not as densely populated as city beaches. Some Foros sanatoriums and hotels allow non-guests onto their premises for a fee. It can vary from 50 to 200 rubles. It often includes the use of sun loungers and umbrellas.
  • Beach "Derevyashka". Crimea is not Crimea without nudist beaches! In every coastal village there is always a place where people with free morals are attracted. In Foros, this beach has the characteristic name “wooden beach”.
  • Cold beach. It is named so because there are several cold springs under the water, and the water there is always a little colder than elsewhere. It is located in a very beautiful and quiet bay; as a rule, there are not many people there.

Churches and temples. Which ones are worth visiting?

Definitely worth a visit Foros Church, which is on the mountain above the village. If only simply because of the gorgeous views that open from its observation decks.

Museums. Which ones are worth visiting?

There are no museums as such in Foros. But there is the Tesseli estate, where all sorts of counts lived in the 19th century and Gagarin himself rested after the flight, as well as Gorbachev’s dacha. Tourists are not allowed in either place now and excursions are not held. But no one forbids walking next to them and taking pictures.

Tourist streets

Terletskaya and Shkolnaya streets lead to the beach, which means they can safely be called tourist streets - there are a lot of stalls with Crimean delicacies and souvenirs, several cafes and hostels.

What to see in 1 day

In one day you will go around the whole of Foros five times :)

Well, let’s say you came there from Yalta.

  • So, 10:00 you are in Foros.
  • 10:00 - 12:00 - swimming on one of its cleanest beaches.
  • 12:00 - 13:00 - escape from the heat into the coolness of the Foros park.
  • 13:00 - 14:00 - lunch in any cafe you like.
  • 14:00 - 15:00 - inspection of the Tesseli estate and Gorbachev’s dacha.
  • 15:00 - 17:00 - visit to the Foros Church and the Baydar Gate.
  • 17:00 - 18:00 - dinner at the “Shalash”.

What to see in the area

The surroundings of Foros are the entire South Coast and. Therefore, it is simply possible and even necessary to travel around the surrounding villages, and.

Food. What to try

  • Of course, in Crimea, the first thing you should do is fill your belly with all the southern delicacies - crayfish, oysters and mussels, boiled corn, dried Black Sea fish, churchkhela and baklava. It is definitely worth eating Crimean fruits and vegetables in the fall: figs, cherry plums, peaches, grapes, plums, dogwoods, cherries, walnuts, pistachios and olives. All this is available in stalls on beaches and embankments, as well as from merchants walking along tourist streets.
  • Since Crimea is famous for its rich Tatar culture, establishments of Crimean Tatar cuisine are most common here. And it's definitely worth a try pilaf, pasties, lagman and other national gastronomic delights. Similar cafes in all villages big Yalta the chickens don’t peck, and on average, lunch there costs 500 rubles. Local friendly Tatars, a diaspora of excellent gourmets and chefs cook there, so everything is very tasty and satisfying.
  • Besides, During the high tourist season, a bunch of canteens and cafes with European cuisine open. Many of them boast gorgeous views of the open terraces.
  • And the most important thing! Try everything that grannies sell in markets and just on the streets! Don’t be afraid of unsanitary conditions and generally discard such prejudices! The products are unique, have no analogues, and are always incredibly tasty and unusual. You can’t taste this anywhere else - grannies bring the most incredible things from their gardens, marinate it all in Crimean mountain herbs, bake it with spices unknown to us and, most importantly, with love and creativity. Mind blowing! Seriously, don't be afraid to try it, you won't regret it.

Holidays

Sometimes, in coastal villages, Neptune Day is celebrated - the holiday of the god of the sea. Mass celebrations, costume shows for children, competitions for adults and games for children are held on the beaches. At the end of the performance, the god Neptune comes out with his subjects and throws everyone into the sea :) It is always performed in the neighboring village, I can’t say for sure about Foros. Maybe there is such a tradition there too. It usually falls at the end of June.

Safety. What to watch out for

In general, Foros is a citadel of peace and security, but there are things that it is better to warn yourself against:

  • Intestinal infections- they, like food poisoning, are the ones you should be most careful of in hot weather. You should wash your fruits and hands thoroughly, do not swallow sea water from the beaches, and drink vitamins to boost your immunity.
  • Pocketnicknames You should pay special attention to your bags and wallets. Do not wear them open or leave them unattended on the beach. Thieves of all kinds flock to resort towns for easy prey. Gawky tourists, worn out by the southern sun, forget about safety and walk along the embankment with their mouths open and their backpacks on. This is the most delicious morsel for any pickpocket. Don't become one of these simpletons! Windows on the ground floor that are not protected by bars are also recommended to be closed at night and during your absence. Just be vigilant and everything will be fine. Although these guys don’t meddle in Foros - it’s a “dead” place for big loot, it’s worth keeping in mind the possibility of robbery.
  • Storm. You should also beware of them. Getting into a storm at sea is easy, but getting out is not so much. I was once thrown hard against the rocks before I could get out. You shouldn’t be arrogant and play with the elements - strong waves can drag you far from the shore or simply maim you on the coastal stones.

Things to do

In the village itself - lie on the beach, go to the market, eat southern delicacies, try sea fishing, go to Mount Mshatka, walk in the park. But besides this, you need to explore other cool corners of the South Coast, go on excursions and take all sorts of interesting tours :)

Shopping and shops

Present in Foros only in the form of grocery stores and one Soyuzpechat stall. The best part of shopping in Crimea is walking through the markets for local delicacies and souvenirs :) You can’t grab branded clothes in Crimea - because of sanctions, all European and American labels have closed their shops here.

Bars. Where to go

Every southern cafe, which is open only in season, is also a bar and a club. They sing, dance, and order karaoke. 90% of cafes and restaurants in Foros provide all these services. And they are everywhere

same level, quality and plan. Just take a walk in the evening through the center of the village and along the embankment - you will immediately understand where to go by the characteristic music and singing.

But in Partenit, these establishments are very much for everyone - they seem to be stuck in the 90s and do not know that there are singers besides Rosembaum and others like him, and bar culture has already stepped much further than sticky tables and cocktails made only of vodka and juice.

Extreme Sports

The Southern Coast of Crimea is a real haven for extreme sports enthusiasts. Steep forest trails are wonderful for downhill cycling and freeride, mountain cliffs are for rope jumpers, the mysterious waters of the Black Sea are for divers and kayakers, tall rock formations are for rock climbing and mountaineering, relief plateaus are for jeeping, mountain river beds are for canyoning, deep caves - for caving tourism. And I'm sure this is not the whole list.

Above Foros there is the Forossky Kant, the rock massif Mshatka and Uarch-Kaya. All of them are dotted with climbing routes, and in general they are the most popular places for training and competitions among domestic climbers. There is a good campsite right below the massif, so climbers do not settle in Foros itself.

Souvenirs. What to bring as a gift

As a gift from Crimea, it is definitely worth bringing sweet Yalta onions, aromatic sunflower oil, Crimean teas and wines (only it is better to buy them at wineries, the markets are full of fakes), local spices (the Svan mixture is especially good), aromatic oils and soaps, nuts and olives, honey and jam from local fruits, bracelets and necklaces made of shells, paintings by local painters, ceramics from potters, toys carved from wood. All this can be found in the markets.

Classic souvenirs like magnets, shell beads, teas and soap can be purchased for 100 rubles. The price for tourist cards is the same. The cost of illustrated publications about Crimea starts from 300 rubles. Spices cost from 30 rubles per bag. Wines - from 250 per bottle. In addition, in markets and souvenir stalls you can safely practice the art of bargaining and bring down the price a little :)

How to get around the city

On foot, of course! How else can you get around a small coastal village? The only thing is that it has a lot of slides with significant height changes. At first it’s unusual - you’re out of breath and your muscles hurt. But by the time the vacation comes to an end, the legs and lungs are already getting used to and adapting :)

Taxi. What features exist

A taxi ride in Yalta or Sevastopol costs on average 150 rubles. You just need to call the ordering services, and not use the services of bombs that lure rogue tourists. They jack up prices shamelessly. Taxi numbers are available on the Internet, I just called the first number that came up in a search engine. Unfortunately, convenient Yandex taxi and other applications have not yet reached Crimea. To the airport, taxi drivers usually charge 2000–3000 rubles. From Foros to Yalta and Sevastopol - from 500 to 700 rubles.

Buses

According to locals, minibuses do not go through the village itself. I take their word for it, but I haven’t checked it myself.

From the Foros bus station you can get to Yalta, Sevastopol, Simferopol and Bakhchisarai.

The schedule changes from winter to summer, you need to check it at the bus station, and as a rule they are also posted at bus stops and inside the buses.

Transport rental

Many people rent cars and for good reason. This is much more convenient than being stuck in crowded summer minibuses, not knowing where to get off and whether you will catch the last flight.

There is no rental service in Foros, but there is one in Yalta, Sevastopol, Bakhchisarai and Simferopol. At the airport itself there are several offices of various car rental companies. On average, renting an economy class car for 7 days costs about 8,000 rubles. Business class - about 15,000. During the high tourist season, you need to book cars in advance, at least a month in advance. Look possible options rent is possible .

Be careful on winding and steep mountain roads - that's my only advice. Driving on flat terrain is different from driving on mountainous terrain. The latter requires more skill and dexterity. So don't be reckless, just be careful :)

Foros - holidays with children

Foros is ideal for holidays with small children. Clean, quiet, calm, without crowds of tourists and cafes screaming chanson until nightfall. Clean large beaches, a picturesque shady park for walking with a stroller, children's playgrounds. It’s good for both kids and parents :)
